We have been friends for 20 years and
we have a long shared interest in cross-stitch and decided in November 2001 to start our own cross stitch and tapestry design business.
We attended our first retail show at
Olympia,
London in the spring of 2002, with much success. At that stage, we only had 7 designs but since then we have built our collection to over 90. The company has grown steadily since that time and we are now stocked in a large number of outlets around the World.
Between us, we have five children ranging in age from 12 -17 and we have managed to run the business around our busy family lives.
The business is based in Joanne's home, and we design, manufacture and distribute all our kits from this base.
At the outset, our aim was to produce a kit that we, ourselves, would be happy to buy – our kits therefore contain – pre-sorted DMC threads, zweigart fabric (either aida or linen), needle, computer printed chart and full instructions.
Our tapestry kits contain a printed canvas, computer printed colour chart, Anchor wool, needle and full instructions.
Originally our main aim was to create traditional Samplers based on original antique designs.
We then started to include birth and wedding samplers in our range and from there have expanded to all areas of design.
We gain our inspiration from
popular images and try to keep up to date with current trends.
